Coke Zero Plus: Japan's weight loss diet soda!

We all know Coca Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero but have you heard about Coke Zero Plus? A special invention that only exists in Japan. What makes this drink so special is what I'll briefyl outline below. Be assured, that you'll be surprised!

Coke Zero Plus

I have always enjoyed a cold and crisp Coke Zero throughout my day. When I walked into Family Mart, a white bottle with the imprint "Coca Cola Plus" caught my attention. Not really thinking further, I initially thought, this Coke just has a seasonal different branding presentation and walked away. The more often I went to grab a Coke, the more often Coke Plus caught my eye until one day, I took one bottle out of the fridge to inspect it carefully and google it. And what I got to find out simply blew my mind and made me laugh.

Coke Zero Plus is a , only in Japan available, soft drink which supposedly helps you to loose weight. How does it do that? By containing Dextrin; a source of fiber, which, in moderate amounts, can have positive effects on the growth of health-promoting intestinal bacteria. This, in consequence, can lead to a better digestive system, higher stool volume frequency and hence as a great supportive helper in loosing weight. Crazy, right?

Now, did I consume it on a daily basis for a self-experiment in trying to loose weight? Certainly not. But I had to taste it, of course. And compared to a normal Coke Zero, there is no difference at all when it comes to taste. So, if you would like to mix- and- mingle a combination between Aspartam and Aspartam + Dextrin once in a while, Japan offers you the opportunity to do so ;)
